SESSION VARIABLES

A session is a programming mechanism that allows to keep information about a user which is temporarily stored in the server and lingers when moving from one site to another. Unlike cookies, the data linked to a session are not stored in the client, but in the server; plus, they disappear when the user closes the browser.

The variable identifying a session is called $_SESSION[nombre]. In many occasions, sessions are implemented by means of a cookie storing a value which identifies the user in the web server in such a way that all the data of the session are accessible every time the user moves from one site to another thanks to the identifier stored in the cookie (session cookie PHPSESSID).

Please find below the session variables we use:

» Cart session: $_SESSION[carrito]: used to save your purchase.
» Currency session: $_SESSION[coin] and $_SESSION[convertcoin]: used to indicate the price of the articles in the currency selected by you with its current exchange rate with regard to the euro.
» Language session: $_SESSION[idioma] and $_SESSION[pais]: used to save your preferences regarding the language and the country from where you access our website.
» Bookmarks session: $_SESSION[lastvistaas]: used to inform you of the articles you have visited in our website.
» Activity time session: $_SESSION[tiemposession]: it limits the inactivity time in the website and the session break time.
